Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. Her early Broadway roles include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in a Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford will be next as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which brought you Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than a century. Ashford appeared for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie on You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
